Here's my goal... my friends and I all live in one house, and have a local network set up (workgroup). I am running RH8 while everyone else is running either win98 or winXP. I want to be able to access files that they are sharing over the network. Is samba the easiest way to do this? Setting up a domain would be overkill. I just want linux to be able to grab files from their computers. If it wouldn't be too hard, maybe even set it up so they could grab files from my linux box. Is samba the only option I have?

Thanks for any help!

I would suggest Samba or failing that just turn your monitor where it can see the others.:D

That is exactly what I was looking for... thanks a lot!

Just for the record... I tried the latter option, but my linux box is rather aged and was still having problems seeing the other boxes, maybe it is starting to develop cataracts?
