Logic Problem

Okay, I'm going to code a page for my teacher where he can post HW assignments online. We're going to be taking assignments from a database and posting them online via ASP (it's what the school servers run, so it's what we're going to use). I'm not so much concerned with any help with coding the thing, it's more of a logic problem. How do I get the right assignments on the right day when there are no specific dates that he posts them. Rather, when there is no constant interval to post the HW, how do I get the right assignment on the right date with minimal user input. Right now he creates a link for everything and connects it to a Word Document with a small table and the assignment. BIG waste of space on the server. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated. Feel free to ask any questions, I realize that my explanation may have been hard to follow.
