When I installed SuSE 8.1 everything was fine all my devices mounted and I was able to use all my devices. It's been like this for a couple of months now, but today my CD Recorder Icon changed and so I clicked on it and this is the error I get: The desktop entry file /home/admin/Desktop/CD-R.desktop has no type=...entry.
Whats this all about?
My IDE channels are:
Hard Drive IDE0 Master
CD-R IDE0 Slave
CD-ROM IDE1

it looks like you need to define a mount point for your CDRW drive. If you are using KDE you should be able to go to the properties menu in kde for the RW drive & then define a new mount point there under the device tab the mount point should be simialr to /mnt/cdrom & the device should be somthing like /dev/cdrom1 make sure you have an entery in the device field.

When I go to the properties menu there is no device tab, but there is for my other devices (cd-rom, floppy)

do you have a device listing similar too /dev/cdrom1? that is the device entry for my RW drive & /dev/cdrom is for my DVD/CD drive & there respective mount points are /mnt/cdrom & /mnt/cdrom1 have you tried creating a new CDROM/dvd device in kde & then typing either /dev/cdrom or /dev/cdrom1 in the device tab? You could also put this info in the current field you have that is blank. you want to put in the device entry that is missing eg if you already have /dev/cdrom as a choice put in /dev/cdrom1:cool:
hope that helps post back if you need further help

View the following attachment is is a chooped png image of my desktop, the error is what i get when I click on the cd-r icon, also you can see the properties from the cd-r (see no device tab!) and look at the cd-r icon that not what it usually is, it changed to that when I got the 1st error
