This has probably been posted before, but looking through previous posts, i wasn't able to find exaclty what i'm looking for.

i set noauto in my /etc/fstab because i hated KDE always checking the drives when i went into /mnt, but now any time i want to access the drives i have to mount it from the console.
Is there an easy way to access my drives without having to mount and unmount each cd i put in?
Would something like Amd or autofs help, or is there a better way?

Thanks!

autofs is for networked drives mostly you may have a problem with this...for example when there is no cd in the tray, yet it tries to mount it.

noauto is only for mounting at boot. after that you still have to mount. just create some shortcut (if you have X...maybe some icon?) to mounti it for you.
