Shadow on display

I can't seem to lose the shadow on fonts and icons on my display...
I have an ATI 3D Rage pro card and Dell ULTRASCAN 1000hs seies model 1025TM
Monitor... I've tried many settings but can't lose the 'shadow' which is like a teal colour?
Any ideas?
Oh' i'm running Mandrake 9.0...
