Here's something that has bugged me for quite a while. Please help!
During my RH8.0 installation, I only installed one language and that became the default language on my box. Now I want to have another language and I have no idea how to go about it. :(
I had a quick look through the RH documentation as well as a forum search here but did not find any instructions how to do so.
Any pointers? :D

here's what one google search found:
To change the language configuration after you have completed the installation, use the Language Configuration Tool.
Type the redhat-config-language command in a shell prompt to launch the Language Configuration Tool. If you are not root, it will prompt you for the root password to continue.

Thanks for the reply, Joe. Let me explain my problem a bit more.
I only installed one language during the installation. The Language Configuration allows one to change the configuration not install i.e. it assumes that the other languages are installed and we are switching between the languages installed.
Thanks for your reply anyway. Really appreciate it!
It seems that I may have to reinstall RH and select more languages during the installation. But it seems rather weird that this cannot be done without a re-installation. *sigh*

f you are only going to use one language on your system, selecting only that language will save significant disk space. The default language is the language you selected to use during the installation. However, if you select only one language, you will only be able to use that specified language after the Red Hat Linux installation is complete.
*sigh*
All the more reason to get a decent distro, instead of RH. :D

Thanks! I reinstalled and spent a lot of time updating packages and getting all my stuff to work again... and trying to do it behind my colleague's back so that he won't snigger at linux... :D

This is pretty shocking. I went and found how to change/add languages in Debian. Pretty darn simple. I just can't believe RH makes you reinstall! I wonder how other distros react to this..is this only a problem with RH, or all rpm based distros, or does it not have any other basis except what seems like a backwards method designed by the developers of the particular distros plagued w/ this problem....
