how do i use samba??!

Ok, I'm totally confused, i got mandrake 9 on my server/gateway, my other puter is a 266 running ME, I'm all networked, except 1. the internet ain't shared, and 2. i need a password to get into my linux mnt's from my ME box. Also i tried installing Linneighborhood but it won't configure correctly, can somone come over and hook my crap up, i got a case of german beer and a carton of smokes!, PLEASE HELP ME!:confused:

if you want to use the linux box as the internetsharing one, you have to
set up ip masquerading.

Get webmin! It will make setting up your firewall/routing and Samba much easier. Check out the site in my sig below and it will get you started. Samba can be a bear, but webmin should be able to get you up and networking..

pcghost, I went to webmin and it's a very pretty site, but I don't get it. Since they don't elaborate very much on what to do/how to do webmin, perhaps you could help us out here?

Ok, i downloaded and installed webadmin, but can't find it! It says to go to http://localhost:10000/ but nothings on that page. Please help!!!

that needs to be https://localhost:10000 the "s" is important, it makes the link secure so as to give some semblance of security

I'm using Linneighborhood and its working fine, i can access my Windows machine, peraphs you should post here, the errors that it returns when you try to configure, mabye i can help you.
