I have read the Red Hat Official manuals and I've checked many other sites, but I still can't figure out how to install Red Hat Linux 8.0. I've already downloaded the three iso images and burned them to CD's and I've downloaded the Boot Image. I'm looking to make Red Hat the sole OS on one of my computers so I can get the hang of it before I make it my primary OS. The computer I'm running has Windows 98 SE. If anyone can give me an explanation(Layman's Terms; please) on how to do it I would be greatly appreciative.

At a loss :>0

Chris

P.S. Sorry to throw a curve ball, but I changed the boot options in my BIOS to boot from the CD but nothing is happening.

In Windows 98, can you see the install CD? You should be able to see the entire directory structure, view certain files like text files and .pdf files, although not execute the actual Linux binaries.

If you can't see the structure and files, then the CDs were burned incorrectly. If you can see the structure and files, then perhaps the BIOS isn't seeing the CD drive as a bootable device. I've made the mistake of changing some configuration in the BIOS setup screens and then not "saving" said changes. If you still can't get the CD-ROM to boot, then try to set your floppy as the first bootable device and use a boot disk written from boot images available on the CD-ROM.

If you can see the files on your cd, as suggested by
jglen490, the look for "dosutilities". Follow the instructions on making a boot floppy from windows.

Have you tried their x86 Installation Guide?...I will admit that it's pretty comprehensive.
