Desktop and Sound

My sound card works. How do I get sound to work with my desktop, kde, kde2, gnome,etc. I have SuSE Linux Professional 7.0:confused: :confused: :confused: :confused: :confused: :confused::confused: :confused: :confused:

Check your control panel. There are usually some options in there about what sounds to use for desktop events.

I got the sound working in gnome and kde but not in kde2. Do I have to set up the sound in each window manageror am I doing something wrong.!?

I have not used KDE2, so I'm not sure. Each windowing system probably has its own set of configuration files, so you probably need to configure them each separately.
