Hi All,
Im currently running RH8.
There alot of talk about uniformed and null desktops.
Are these both KDE and Gnome combined?
I use both, can you combine them both to one?
Once combined where do you stand with themes etc?
Hope someone can shed some light on the little questions.
Thanks.

Redhat gave Gnome and KDE similar looks. They have the same theme, etc. Basically they tried to make it seamless, so you wouldn't be able to tell (or care) if the program you're running is a Gnome or KDE app. You can't really combine the two, but you can run Gnome apps in KDE and vice-versa.

Thanks for you reply.
Other window managers seem to have and run better themes than KDE/GNOME.
Anyone have any suggestions in what other window manager i can run, and is it simple enough to install?
How will this affect KDE/GNOME apps etc?
Thanks.

If you're running RH8 then the chances are that there were a good few window managers installed on your system already, and I'd be surprised if whichever graphical login manager they've opted to use as default doesn't list most of them.
There are loads of different window managers out there, many of which operate in different ways - it's just a case of trying them and seeing what you like. And no, playing around with other window managers will not affect how your Gnome/KDE apps run - they'll run as before.
Most Gnome/KDE apps run perfectly well by themselves, they're just bundled together as a group of applications that make a nice, viable desktop system when run together.

Redhat 8 is actually pretty skimpy on window managers. You get KDE, Gnome, and Windowmaker. Maybe twm, I'm not really sure...
Anyway, I like fluxbox - fluxbox.sourceforge.net
I'm using Gnome 2 right now, but every time I install a distro I inevitably wind up back in Fluxbox, so it's only a matter of time until I do again.

This site (http://www.xwinman.org/index.html) is a good resource for X Window managers. Lots of good linkage and screen shots to help make up your own mind.
