hi
i tried to set xterm to a transparent mode actually but
ran into trouble while doing that.
the manual pages dont contain information about it.

The standard xterm doesn't have support for transparency. You need to install aterm, Eterm, or rxvt to get a transparent console window.

well u see this happens a LOT so it gets common users annoyed, like me, if i spent ages basicly writing a howto or even reading someone elses and see that someone can't even be arsed searching first, well u can see how annoying it is, it happes soooooo often as well, otherwize i wouldn't be arsed at all

I started doing searches at the following places in order of importance:

Also, with Slackware and possibly other distributions, I get the same HOWTO's available at http://www.tldp.org but right in my hard drive under /usr/doc.
man pages, README files, info entries, yadda, yadda, yadda!!!
