Hi everyone!

In Red Hat 7.3, does anyone know how to make both KDE & Gnome reload the graphics driver after a user logs out? I suspect it can be done but I haven't found directions for how you would.

Thanks in advance!

Have you tried ctrl-alt-backspace? This will restart X and should load your new driver

That wont work. The problem I'm running into deals with version 4191 of nVidia's driver. I need to be able to always force the nVidia driver to load when I login.

hmmm, I thought once you installed these the first time they stayed installed? I have never had any problems with the driver changing back to a different one. I'm not currently using an Nvidia card, so I probably can't be anymore help.

There seems to be a problem with the way that driver is interacting with KDE & Gnome. Once the driver is loaded correctly it works fine. The problem seems to be getting it to load correctly.
