Any way to recover from this?

I spent like a hour installing UT2003 on Linux, now when I went to enter my CD Key, I made a typo, but I couldn't fix it because the terminal the installer openned disabled the backspace key (backspace key returns something like ^4). And I do not want to spend another hour to reinstall UT2003, help?

I am using Mandrake 9 BTW.
