Hi, i'm trying to install KDE3.1rc5 on my Debian woody system, i've downloaded the kdelibs and kdebase tarballs and unzipped them, when it comes to configureing i come up with the error
checking for X... configure: error: can't find X includes. Please check your installation and add the correct parths!

could anyone tell me what's wrong? I have an Xwindow system installed and am running Gnome2 which is running correctly, so i'm wondering what the X problem is for configuring KDE3.

If you want the latest KDE, you may need to change to the unstable branch. There's apparently a conflict with some libs in Woody. Check this out:
