I have a friend who wants to install Linux on one of his older Macs running OS 8.2 right now. I'm not familiar w/ Mac distros.
What would be the best distro for an OldWorld PPC? I'm not too familiar w/ Macs, but I do want to convert him to Linux :-D
Any suggestions and installation tips?

I would suggest that he try yellowdog ppc. I have just installed it on my Power Computing power center pro without a hitch.
Everything is working fine except for a few things and I contribute them to me not having any linux experience.

I am using YellowDog 2.3, which is based on Red Hat 7.3, myself. But, there are other choices. Mandrake... Debian... I hear many good things about Mandrake and Debian as well. Mandrake, however, is in a bit of financial trouble at the moment.
Please study your options carefully before making your decision.
