I used the stupid kappfinder program and it added a bunch of stupid legacy stuff to my menu and I simply want to add Evolution to that menu, but I CANT FREAKING FIGURE THIS OUT!!!! This has been a bad day, I have been trying to figure this out all day long... I am using Mandrake 9 --

can someone please help ..

what version of KDE? In older versions, there was a menu option called COASS which had most of the system config stuff (like menu editor)

hmm... well, I run SuSE8.1pro with KDE3, it's in K-->System-->Tools->MenuEditor
if you don't have system anywhere (it's under preferences in mine) try adding a button for it in your tool bar (I have no idea how to quickly do that in Mandrake, sorry; in SuSE you
rightclick-->add-->buttons-->SuSE-->System-->Tools

If none of that works, go back to whatever installer mandrake uses (again, I'm pretty new to linux myself, and only know about SuSE and Caldera) and check to make sure that you installed all of KDE; or, use kpackage or something and see if you can find that package in your install cds, and install it if it hasn't been done.

MD 9.0 comes with KDE 3.03, if I understand you correctly you want to open the menu editor in kde right? this is how it's done
Right click on the K icon that launches kicker then select menu editor from the menu that pops up this will launch menu drake & then you should be set :D

post back if I can clarify anything for you

I can open MenuDrake and wasnt sure if that was Menu Editor, thank you both for the help.... the thing I cannot do with menudrake is take out these stupid Folders of Legacy Apps that I put in using Kappfinder.

Am I to assume that Mandrake does not have the standard Menu Editor that the KDE manual is talking about, and that Menudrake is Madrakes (ah--- im pretty quick, i just corelated the Drake and Drake --) Menu system... if so, its kindof a bummer, because it does not easily show how to remove files that I have in there....

any help.... and again thanks to both of you!

to remove the folders try this in menudrake
highlight the folder(s) you want to remove then click delete after you have removed the folders be sure to save the changes then exit menudrake:cool:

almost all the config tools in mandrake have a drake at the end of there name

post back if I can be of more assistance

you can type 'kmenuedit' in your shell, or in your 'Run Command - K-Desktop' box
