no audio with crytal audo pleas advise

i have a thinkpad 770z - i cannot get the sound to work . it has the following integrated sound card :

cirrus CS4610/1 cystalclear soundfusion audio

mandrake 9 detects the card but it does not work - mind you the card does work under win 2 k just fine - errr winblows

does any one know how to get the sound to work ?

Does Mandrake have the sndconfig utility? If so, run that and configure your sound card.

i tried that - it did not work. the problem is that ML9 detects and sets up the card, but it does not work. a lot of the sound driver packages seem to leave this card out - they start with the next model card up.

any other suggestions ?

hi, i have the same card maybe an other model but it's cirrius logic crystal clear and it works really very well :)
simply install alsa and u'll get it working :)
old OSS drivers aren't working very well :(
