Dead in the Water (woody install)

I tried to resize my partitions using fdisk (from bash prompt) and then rebooted --> NOTHING. Single curser (non-blinking) displayed, unable to complete boot-up. Computer will not boot from 3.5 or CD. Help! ANY suggestions appreciated!

Does it give a single beep on powering up? Also does it scan the floppy?

I dont think fdisk can resize partitions, only create new ones(destroying others along the way). So you might have finished all you had on your hda. Maybe you just need to reinstall :). If it doesnt boot from CD or disks, check the BIOS

I does beep at startup, then stops dead. I've tried forcing a boot from cd and the computer does not seem to recognize the 3.5. how do Icheck the bios? I'm a windows (former) user.
