Download the Linux core program wolf-linux-1.1b.x86.run ~9.2Mb, Install and then just copy the .pk3 data files as indicated in the readme, from the RTCW windows directory to 'Main' directory created on the Linux side TheGimp 12-10-2002, 02:09 PM Originally posted by Maigret Download the Linux core program wolf-linux-1.1b.x86.run get wolf-1.4 full and wolf-1.41-update 1.1b is beta, and he won't be playing online with that old version Wibble 12-10-2002, 02:20 PM What's the difference (if any) in speed, etc between playing RTCW on a linux box and on a Win box? Maigret 12-10-2002, 03:37 PM I have been running it on a P2 400, which is min spec for the game and it runs good. In fact when I got the game I loaded it into windows and it locked up solid during opening credits. Update.... then run again. Goes for 5 minutes and locks up.... ...reset Locks up in opening credits....reset So I download Linux file and it runs good (remember its a min spec machine). I have been right through the game and it only failed maybe 4 times and even then it only dropped out to the desktop. But speed wise there was no visible difference between Win & Linux. Provided you have your graphics set up right. Check it with glxgears ( I was getting 1250 fps with that machine, 2618fps with my new motherboard ) and glxinfo. Good hunting. whm1974 12-10-2002, 07:06 PM so it's just like Quake2 which I recently got working on my computer Well I brought the GOTY edition so all I had to do was D/L the binary and install the disc. No installing to Windows, but I had to copy the pk3 files from the CDs Bill Meadows justlinux.com
