I tried to install Mandrake PPC 8.2 onto my PM8600/180DP, after unstuff the installer, double click, answer few tabs, I was able to boot into linux installation screen. On this screen I choose CDROM, hit OK, but the installer told me that CDROM was not found, hit OK, there was a list of drivers, I got no idea which one to pick, so I tried mac oldworld internal CD, click OK, another screen poped up asked me to fill out "option"? at this point, I am totally lost, what do I should do?
Any help would greatly appreciated, I don't want to give up on this just yet, it is just my second day on Linux. Thanks

A little more info please...
Does the installation stop there, or what? Have you tried other options?
Sometimes the system will ask for command arguments, but you may not have to enter any.

Solo, Thank you for your reply, after I select install from CD, the installer promt me that it does not detect the CD drive, then a new window with listing of several cd driver to choose from, I chose internal SCSI for oldworld machine, hit return, the new window came up asked to fill in option, I dont know what to type in the blank, so I hit return, then the installer reported that no CD rom drive found. The installer did not hang, I just don't know what to setup to tell the installer where the CD drive is. I believed if the CD drive recognized, the next step would be the graphical installation process. Did I missing some thing?
Thanks
I went to search the Mandrake site for specific PPC installation issues and couldn't find anything.
I'd suggest that you take note of what address your CD drive is getting on boot up (/dev/sda1, or whatever), and use that as the option to enter at the prompt. If that doesn't work, I don't know what else to try...
