Half-Life and Sound /Unreal

Question #1:
Have been able to get Half-life installed, and works great in WineX (CVS) but I am not getting any sound, I am using a Cheapo Creative AudioPCI (ES1371) which works for everything else ( except games ) in Linux (RH7.3) but have been unable to figure out how to make changes for sound in WineX, any help would be great

Question #2:
I would like to be able to run Unreal Tournament (GOTYE) in Linux, ( I am using RH7.3) I was told there was a native install available for UT, but have not been able to find it, any ideas?

I'm really not sure on the sound thing, I've never had to do anything special with sound. It's always picked it up automatically. What sound system are you using, OSS or Alsa?

On UT GoTY, you can get the .run file from Loki's site still. Here it is:

ftp://ftp.lokigames.com/pub/patches/ut/

Grab the ut-install-436.run file. I'm not sure what the IpDrv-436 file is, maybe a patch for on top of 436? Dunno. Either way, it'll work in single player at least with that .run file.

nope, he wants ut-install-436-GOTY.run
UT won't even launch if he used the orginal installer.

:) you are correct, it wouldn't but I am still thankful for the line, by using it, I was able to find the GOTY version,and it runs great!! I mean it runs great in Windows, but for some reason it just seems to run much better in linux. ( maybe it is a mind over matter thing :) )

Now, to fix the sound, gonna search the NHF see if I can find anything.
