I used to start warcraft by just a simple "wine war3.exe" and it worked, but not that quickly, I have experimented a little and find that wine war3.exe &>/dev/null runs a whole lot faster then what I used to do. I can't really explain why it helps so much except that the logging it did to the console now is just nulled.
