I download the three iso from the mandrake site and burnt them on a cd. I put the cd in and nothing happened so I just open my d drive and double click on it and my cd creator opened up so that aint right.
So I rebooted my window and nothing happened either...
do I need to make a boot disk? and if so how do I do that? Thanks.

Is your system set to boot from a bootable Cd if one is placed in the CD-ROM drive? You have to specify in the BIOS of your system the boot order, whether it chooses to boot from floppy, CD-ROM or HDD. If this is set correctly, do you have a bootbal CD to hand? One which you know works? Then you can test to see if all works fine. If all IS fine, it would appear there may be a problem with the first CD.

Ok I have just been stuck with the first step for like the last week. Did all the thing about BIOS and all and read up on boot disk, installation guide and others...
Well, I just read the Read Me that came with it and I missed out how to burn the CD (I use easy cd creator) I need to burn it as ISO and not just data. No wonder nothing wasnt working. Man, I hope this is not how it is going to be with Linux. I am going to have lots of problems....

Check the CD's and make sure you didn't just burn the iso image file. Thats probably why CD Creator opened up.
To create a CD from an iso image with Easy CD Creator click on files | create from iso then select the iso extension and then the iso image file you downloaded. Now your ready to burn the CD.
You should now be ready to install.

Persevere. If you get stuck, either search on here, or www.google.com - If that doesn't help, post and you should get help. Linux is not like Windows. It isn't as easy to set-up. BUT, when you do get it doing what you want, it is great. It's a big learning curve, and I'm still at the bottom of it too.

Don't worry m8, I did the same thing myself one time ... I also reinstalled a whole os to cure a "no sound" problem and then realised I hadn't plugged my speakers in ... but that's a whole new story :o :D
