Anyone actually bought Star Office from SUN?

If so can you please post your thoughts on this product, compared to M$ Office Suite.

Thanks
Shelton.

I haven't used it yet, but I use Openoffice alot which is very similar and love it. I'm no power user though so can't really give a very useful comparison but it's very compatible with MS Office.

My company are currently considering replacing MS Office with StarOffice on most of our 100 Desktop machines. For this to be considered, it must be good. Hopefully this may happen in the new year.

I really like Sun's new office product. It possesses everything one would need except for an =email client. I feel that Sun did make a mistake by not making an e-mail client that could interface with Exchange servers. Even though Sun's office suit does not possess an e-mail client. I still give it a 5 out of 5.

Agreed, SO6.0 was my first actual software purchase in years. It was a very few bucks, very well spent. I am often in need of working with .pps files, as well as .doc, and it opens and re-saves them perfectly so far. For my use, to date, I have found it lacking nothing. Also, being a registered user has had it's advantages.

I noticed when I use OpenOffice, if I put in the page bullets (like bullet points) and save it as a MS word doc, when I open it in MS Word, the dots (the bullets) do not show correctly - does this happen with Sar Office and can you please try for me, if you haven't done so already.

Thanks
Shelton.
