I'm having problems with getting my tarpit's cgi scripts on my linuxbox. The Tarpit runs, but I can't see the html_report.cgi in my browser!
I have installed the Redhat 7.3, installed the basic x-windows classic, KDE and the Web Server.
I downloaded LaBrea-Tarpit-1.08.tar.gz file and the libnet-1.0.2a.tar.gz file, compiled them in the root directory.
I copied the daemon.pl file to /etc directory as suggested.
I copied the LaBrea file to the /usr/local/bin disrectory as suggested in the daemon.pl file.
I think I made a two mistakes:
1. I should not copy a httpd.conf file from a different Linuxbox to my current box, even though the activations of the different utilities are the same.
2. I should not copy the html_report.cgi and the paged_report.cgi from a different Linuxbox to my current Linuxbox.
My question is should I do a complete reinstall and and don't copy some another httpd.conf file(I was being lazy!) and uncomment the cgi sections within the httpd.conf file?
Should I just copy the compiled Taprit files (html_report.plx & the paged_report.plx). Rename them as html_report.cgi & paged_report.cgi in my /var/www/cgi-bin directory?
I need some reassurance that when I copied those files from a different Linuxbox, that I have done myself a serious diss-service by being lazy and that I should try being proactive and going through the motions....
I appreciate any advice and guidance for this padawan!
