I have an E-machines all in one. It's currently running W98 and I'd like to make it RH8.0. The floppy drive is toast, and it requires a special laptop-type floppy, so it's not going to get fixed. The CD-ROM drive is working, but it can't be booted from. I can boot up into W98 and browse the CD, but the creaky old BIOS can't be persuaded to boot from CD-ROM. I've got other linux machines on the network, but everything I read about ftp installs says that I need to boot up from floppy. (see above under "toast"). I've no problem formatting the HD on this beast. What would I need to copy to the HD to get it to boot up and start an install? Is it possible?

TIA!
