Okay. I have a machine that I want to install with RH8. The machine is only going to be used to run a small game server (NWN) and (due to the 80 GB hdd in it) to store my MP3's via SMB.

I want to use 60-70 GB just for storage purposes. Between my girlfriend and myself we have become quite the packrats.

Now my big problem is how exactly I should partition this drive to get the best results. I have heard going with the deafult install from RH8 and letting it set the partitions will make the FS clunky and slow. I was also considering using the LVM option to give me flexibility.

Sadly my linux skills are far from up to par, though I thought starting with this server might be a good step.

Any suggestions? :(

Is a 15 gig home directory needed for that install? I would cut that a little bit and add it to root or storage.
