what are some decent games that I could run on my dedicated Linux box, it's a PII 400, 160 megs of RAM, 8 meg ATI Xpert XL video card, and some unknown sound card.
(for windows) I have Command and Conquer: Red Alert, Need for Speed III, Diablo, Diablo II, I'm borrowing StarCraft, and a couple of other things, is there a way i can make those work, I've heard I need windows to use Wine, so that's out of the question.

if there are any other suggested games could you provide some links to demos, or info/screenshots?

thanks.

Luke

Linux based games (as opposed to emulated windows games):

Quake (1,2,3)
Unreal Tournament 2003
Return to Castle Wolfenstein
TuxRacer
Hopkins FBI
Freeciv (civilation clone)
Lincity (SimCity clone)
Civ: Call to Power
Solder of Fortune
Rune
(and load of other Loki games....)
Flightgear

and the list goes on.

You do not need Windows to use wine. Both winehq and transgaming have a setup where you don't need Windows -- the Windows filesystem is emulated from somewhere under your home directory.

Who told you you needed Windows? (don't actually tell me, I don't need to know.) They need to check out the documentation a bit more, I think...
