Well I've decided to give Debian a chance, since I had soem time to kill. One problem i'm having is I would liek to set up my netowrk during install. However, I'm not sure how. It doesn't automatically recognize it and I'm not sure how to setup the card manually. One of the problems is I'm sure exactly which lan card I have. It is one of the following:
http://www.ecs.com.tw/products/k7sem_3x.htm
or
http://www.ecs.com.tw/products/k7sem.htm

I've tried both but neither will install. They both fail. I wonder if I need some sort of parameters for them.
Wel lthanmks for any help.

Are you on a network?
DHCP or static?

dpkg-reconfigure netbase should take you through network setup again.

It seems that if you have one of the two boards you pointed to I would try The RealTek RTL-8139 or the VIA Rhine support driver/modules.

I tried both of those and both failed to install. Do you think there may be parameters I need to enter with them?
