:) I hope everyone will have a great thanksgiving! I just turned my pc into a linux box this week! :D Everything went smoothly...I opted to install Red Hat 7.0. :p Love it!

During my pc days I was a big fan a god-games such as Civilization, Empire Earth, Emporer Dune, Command and Conquer, etc. Are there games similiar to these made to run in Linux. I am not sure I can run Wine because I totally erased my Windows from the hard drive. I am going 100% Linux! :D

Can anyone recommend some nice god-games for Linux???

thanks for your help!

Err, run the installer using wine...

Find the setup.exe (or whatever it is) on the CD, and from somewhere else in the directory tree (like /mnt/windows for example), do a wine -- /path/to/setup.exe or whatever.

Most of the time, with recent winex's or wine's, that should work. The times it won't will be when the game uses a newer version of InstallShield than was a couple versions older than current when winex (or wine) was released.

Also some games just don't want to work with winex, it's sad but true.

For example, one of my favourite games, Oni, just won't work on winex :(

EDIT: I've just read, about 1minute after making my post that it will work on wine, but very jerkilly, yay

You might want to buy Kohan from Transgaming (http://www.transgaming.com) . I did and love the game. It is an RTS somewhat similiar to Myth II but has some city management.
