I boot to the dvdrom and start installation from there.
I completely get through specifying installation process and such like mouse type what i want to install etc. and then it begins to install does the partitioning needed and then freezes at the very first part of the installation. Im pretty sure these cds are good because i've already installed it once on a desktop.

info on laptop:
ibm thinkpad 600e
pII 300
128mb ram
6gb hdd
dvdrom

any help? ive checked out everything i could find on the ibm website to help me out with this installation but couldnt find much help there.

thanks

It could be bios settings related. Have a look through your bios to see if there is anything you can change/adjust that might help.

You can also try a few installation boot options.

nodma
noapic
noacpi

Enter those at the initial install boot prompt.

Redhat may have a list of other installation options you can try.

well i checked my bios and there isnt much to change its a pretty weak bios. I tried installation and i got through about 1.5gb and had 974mb left but that took about 13 hours. I dont know what is making it take so long to copy 2.5gb. I will check the options to use maybe thatll help right now im just waiting it out.

thanks
