We could even do like the chinese and charge them for the stick!;) Tis only fair.:D

Yes, but after a little bit of convincing with them, they get all nasty and grimy. You need new sticks after a while, bones dull them too quickly.;)

What a community! Our members are so very helpful. See that, when's the last time you saw someone offer to help you clean up anything? This is obviously the One True Way(tm)!:D

That would work well, as the pointy sticks tend to end up maiming or getting them infected. A prod would work well, no lasting effects(other than conversion).

Yes, but you really need sticks from trees, and there aren't that many trees in texas. Last time I went all I saw were bushes. Of course they CALLED them trees, but as anyone who lives near real trees knows...those things are just too tiny to be trees.;)

Those are shrubs man. I go to arlington via alabama, miss., louisiana, through east texas to between dallas and fort worth....Those are shrubs. Not even big shrubs. My sister moved out there from alabama and before that Idaho. Both Idaho and Alabama have real trees(not as big as cali, but hey what you gonna do...move?).

Again, don't feed the trolls. Think of it as a command from the ecclesiastical branch of the IPU. You will gain nothing by feeding him.

I am indeed. It's called shift differential. And it makes for a nice paycheck.;) Besides, I am a long term sufferer of insomnia, often only sleeping 2 to 3 hours a day. This way I get maximum time with my family during the day, and instead of sitting around on the computer at home all night, I get to sit around computers all night at work, and get paid. A nice scenario.:D

Correct guess right off the bat. We have coverage 24-7-365, probably about 4000 nodes.

Server side, mostly IBM, have a 390, a couple hundred IBM servers 7k,5500, etc...Several Unix boxes...

Client side, mostly hp desktops and now IBM desktops, lcds. Still have some older stuff laying around as well.

cool.......i've dealt with several IBM servers, as well as Unix ones...but i hardly deal with the boxes themselves......i fiddle mostly with routers and switches as well as ANSes and NMSes in my job......and i've come to appreciate what networking has done for the people..........bridging the gap and breaking the barriers......

Awww I'm currenly getting my CCNA, you guys know if it's any good? Or should I supplement with something else? I mean for networking. I'm also trying to get into the RHCE.

It's okay, about a billion of them out there, I have a ccna 2(retired soon I think). Don't go any further though it gets rough fast past the entry level ccna. I would suggest getting several widely varying certs. I've had 6 over the last few years, although most are now expired/retired. microsoft, novell, cisco, unix...the only one still active is the microsoft one. After a while they are no longer requested, past a certain experience level. Mostly just good to get you in the door.

Which is exactly what I need. But then again, I'm getting the CCNA cource for free. I only have to pay for the final exam.
Guess theres no substitute for experience.

EDIT: I believe your ccna2 is now called ccnp

I don't desire any advancement. I'm quite content with threatening people into true followers, you know the way it's always been done...
