I'm continually impressed with how excellent samba is and am trying to better understand how samba works. Can anyone explain why my workcentre 470 cx when connected to my redhat 7.3 linux box can only print black and white but when shared from the very same linux box via samba, my windows 95 box prints fine color pictures?
Redhat lprn configuration steps below:
1. select /program/system/printer configuration
2. select local printer and type descriptive name
3. select custom device and give path name /dev/lp0
4. select xerox
5. select xm5700m driver (this was the step I was missing).
6. print test page
