small ftp problem

I'm trying to ftp to my linux box from my windows box...

I go ftp 192.168.7.50 (ip address of linux box)...it will say "Connected to 192.168.7.50"....stay like that for about 2 minutes before erroring out and saying, "Connection closed by remote host".

I don't have iptables/ipchains running....pretty sure.

First try ftp'ing from linux - linux within your own system. This will cut it down to ftp server problem or permissions.
