handspring treo usb

Has anybody had any luck syncing a handspring treo with linux? If so how did you do it? The only info I found that is close is the Visor how-to, but haven't had much luck w/ that.

I'd like to use the USB cable, but I also have a serial IR receiver so maybe that'd be easier?

I did notice a few other documents besides the how-to.

Also www.linux-usb.org may have something to help.
