I thought I'd post this while I'm at work, so hopefully someone would have a fix for me by the time I get out of here...

I'm running RedHat 8 with the latest updates from RHN.

My problem is the firewall settings are set to "High" and I cannot change them. Doesn't matter what user is loged on (root, su, anything) they will not change. I can set them to low, none, or custom, click "OK" then click 'Yes" in the message that pops up and if I go back, the firewall is still set to high.

I stoped SABMA as well as ProFTPd from running to see if that would make a differance, and it didn't. I even tried the normal windows fix for the heck of it, and rebooted a dozen times, and still no luck. :p

Anyone have any ideas for me to try? I'll post any info needed when I get home, just let me know what's needed.

Thanks in advance,
Bryan

as root you can find out what is up with the firewall in detail with this command

/sbin/iptables -L -vn
