Click to See Complete Forum and Search --> : Pentium 4 - 3.06 Ghz. Which distros support it?
I wish to upgrade soon. And I am thinking of getting this. Please tell me if Debian supports it or not.
If it doesn't, I'd look for alternatives, so please also post about it if you know of other Linux distros that support it.
I hope this (thread) will be of help to a lot users here.
Thanks.
All supports that (i386-i686). But maybe you want to compile you own kernel for that (you get the best for that).

The 3Ghz P4 was just released.
I doubt many here have rushed out to buy one and installed any Linux distro.
It's a P4 and of course will work with any of the newer Linux distro versions.
I doubt you will have any problems with the P4-3. Let us know how it goes.

I'm guessing you mean the hyperthreading capability of the 3.06? If so, then as others are saying, any distro should support it, since the linux kernel supports smp, which is essentially what hyperthreading imitates. Now I don't know if it would automatically detect that you had a multi-thread capable system, but I'm sure you could force it to use it.
I was thinking of getting it, but in the end I could not arrange enough money to buy it. Instead I will be getting P4 2.40 GHz processor tomorrow.
Thanks for the reply, all!
