Hi, I'm having prblems with proftpd logging in as anybody (anonymous, other users, root...).

I have tried running the server as root and as ftp, which is the anonymous username, with both using defined user names/groups.

could anyone please tell me what could be wrong?

also, i don't have 'inetd' installed (the service or program or whatever)... i'm on RH 7.2... any1 know why that is, or could tell me where/how to get it?

wu-fptd works, so i'll go with that

any1 know how to uninstall proftpd, the compiled version?
