i went on the flux box site and it said it had partial support for gnome, and antoher thing is , is flux box just a thing that makes thignseasier on the desktop and what not? and im guessing that flux box is not the only type out there

fluxbox is a window manger which is different from gnome.Gnome and KDE give linux sort of a windows type desktop.On the other box fluxbox manages your windows for you and I think it's actually better.There are other such as Blackbox (almost the same as fluxbox) and WindowMaker.

Fluxbox is a window manager. It is very fast and almost completely customizable. My sig has my screenshot with fluxbox.

To install fluxbox download it and unzip it in your home directory.
then in ~/.xinitrc write this code

fluxbox
startx

then logout of Gnome and you boot into fluxbox.

P.S. to boot into gnome move the .xinitrc to another dir.

well see i went to the flux box site and it said it had partial support for gnome which I use, so im asking are there any other WINDOW managers out thier that fully support GNOME?
