Satellite for Linux

I'm considering buying a satellite internet connection. But, I want to know if Mandrake Linux supports USB satellite modems.

i know that starband doesnt support linux, as they use software compression to speed the connection. this really wouldnt be a problem, but if the connection doesnt have the software running, they shut it down.
