One simple question won't push even the tiniest processor. But in a multiuser enviornment, where speed is needed, the multiple processors will help. Look at the article. If you have configured your kernel for SMP support (or installed the -smp kernel from your distribution), and if you have two or more processors, then yes, Linux will be able to run processes and threads on both (or all) processors, just fine.
