I have a desktop with 2 drives C: for Win and D: for Red Hat 8.0.
I install Grub on D's mbr.
Now, let's say if I had installed linux on my laptop where I only have one drive and grub HAS to be on C's mbr.
How would I go about removing Grub from the master boot record.
fdisk/mbr ?
Thanks

Yes, fdisk /mbr from a DOS/Win boot-disk will restore the Master Boot Record. Or, you could just delete the GNU/Linux partitions and install Windows, and it will set the blank hard-drive up the way it wants.

GRUB doesn't "need" to be on the MBR, though. You can put it in the main partition, and make that partition bootable. Or, you can boot from a floppy.
