Opera Intallation....

Hi all,

I go to install Opera ( the newest release ) and I get a message saying, "libqt.so.3 is needed by opera-blahblahblah" What do I have to do to make this work? Also, this may sound petty but, how can I enable the Yahoo! games scripts to work?

The QT library of course. A fairly massive install if my memory serves me right. http://www.trolltech.com/products/qt/

You will need to install qt libraries that are what KDE uses. Are you using KDE? If not, qt and it libraries should be on your distro's cd's.

I am using Mandrake 9, and Gnome. I made the CD's from .iso's. How do I go abotu installing the lib from the CD's? Also, about the Yahoo! games? Any clues?

Run the mandrake software manager as root and search for qt and install the relevant qt libs.

Could you tell us more about what the Yahoo games/script does and how it works?

The only libqt avail to Mandrake (as per the software manager) is libqt3-devel-3.0.5-7mdk.

When I go to go into a Yahoo! game room, it says I need a plugin, I thought it was javascript, and I enabled java.

Just an idea...

You could try and install the "static" version of Opera.
They supply two versions. You obviously have the "dynamic" version.

Just go to WWW.RPMFIND.NET and download the rpm file and install it.:D
