Thought I would give Debian a shot , since its about the only one I have'nt tried. Done the net install, everything went ok (actually, I'm proud of myself because it was'nt that easy) except for the display settings I chose. I want to know how to change the desktop res to 1024x768. Could,nt find it in KDE. What file do I edit?

/etc/X11/XF86Config-4. Look for the Mode lines that look something like:

Modes "1280x1024" #"1152x864" "1024x768"

The first one being the default :)
