So I'm using RH8.0 witht he grub installer and have winME installed as well. My windows install is basically bonked. I was wondering how I could go about reinstalling windows without trashing my current Linux install. I know the ME installer will overwrite the MBR. If I install windows ME how could I go about reinstalling Grub so that it will dual boot me? Is this even possible?

I think you can do that using grub loader, but i use lilo so i don't know more about that grub. You need boot floppy that you can boot to Linux after Windows install and then you need reinstall or run grup (but i donno how) lilo reistall is just run lilo and that is back in the MBR. When i was using RH 7.3 and there was grup i come back to lilo because i don't know howto setup that grup loader.

I'm not sure about this w/ Red Hat but I think you can use you RH cd to boot into Linux. From then on, reconfigure grub.

I think I should have been more clear. I know that I could boot into linux with a boot disk and I know I can install windows without touching my linux install. What I really need to know is if/how I can reinstall grub so that I can dual boot again. Also thinking of upgrading my win install to xp so if I could boot into that BONUS. I'm using RH8.0 so I think I just need to know how to reinstall grub. Though if I've mad any horrible assumptuons please feel free to point them out.

I have NO idea how to do this.

Linux takes up the first 3 partitions of a drive (/,boot, and swap) and the fourth drive partition is windows. What do I do to grub and what files do I change?

To reinstall Grub into the mbr, boot using your bootdisk, logon as root and run

grub-install /dev/hda
