I recently aquired a computer with a K7N420 ATX Mainboard with the most excited intentions of installing linux... After making several attempts of getting RedHat 7.1 up and running, it turns out that the chipset of the mainboard wasn't accepted by Linux xfree86...
However now recently I came across an article on a Forum at xfree86.org saying that the problem could be solved by updating the XFree86 drivers from version 4.1.0 to 4.2.0...
But I am totally new to Linux and I've got absolutely NO idea of how to update my XFree...
Could anyone maybe be so kind as to make the outlines of what I'm really supposed to do? I'm really lost here :)

I posted step by step instructions on upgrading XFree86 in the Technical Support forum a couple of days ago.

If your hardware will support it, why not just install a newer version of Redhat that already includes X4.1 or 4.2?

Either Redhat 7.3 or 8.0.

Actually that's just what I did after a coupple of tries... (Also found out how to install the XFree86 4.2.0 on the way)

Still having some difficulties with getting X to accept my videocard, but I think it's some problems with setting up the XF86Config file...

***Still trying!
