Hi.

First Installation Red-Hat 7.3

When i hit starx give me the error:

fatal server error:
Server is already active for display 0

Sorry for the delay in replying to your question. Guess all the members have gone away for the weekend.

Are you booting into text mode instead of X (gui)?

Did you select and configure X during the initial installation?

Since it says that X is already running, try switching to VC7 (that usually runs X) using ctrl-alt-f7 and see if X is actually running.

Thanks for helping. I can startx now..hufff

I had to change my Resolution to 800x600, don´t know why because i tested the resolution during installation!!!

Have a Monitor Samtron 56E for this OS, but i dont want to use 800x600, i want 1024x768, this Monitor is not Supported???. How can i change it in order to startx???
