Has anyone been able to get a Radeon 7000 working with Slackware 8.1? I can get the factory drivers working, but that doesn't give me 3d. (No Tux Racer or Vendetta!!!!)

Tried downloading the DRI drivers for it, but kept getting a lot of unresolved errors with the radeon_drv.o when I tried to startx.

Maybe I just downloaded the wrong drivers or something... Right now I'm having to use my old tnt2, which works ok for tux and vendetta, but I'd rather have my 64meg DDR ATI card! heh

Anyways, if anyone has gotten this card to work, can they please post what drivers/platform/tips??

Thanks

did you use the NVchooser script from nvidia's site, will tell you which tarball to get.

The problem isn't with NVIDIA and my TNT2, I have it working fine. My problem is getting my ATI Radeon 7000 working with the 3d drivers. ;)

I believe you need the drivers from http://gatos.sourceforge.net

I wasn't aware they made the 7000 with 64MB DDR... I have a plain old 7000 with 32 megs DDR, and I'm wondering if the gatos drivers will work on that?
