Hello all!

I will be installing YDL 2.2 on a beige G3 very soon, and I'm curious to know what books you recommend.

I was planning on purchasing "Getting Started with Yellow Dog Linux" but I read a crappy review of it, so now I'm rethinking.

Any suggestions?

And yes, I'm an uber newbie :D

Thanks!

I've read that YDL is a flavor of Red Hat Linux, so the O'Rielly book Running Linux is a good read. The PPC specific parts of Linux will mostly affect the way applications are compiled (for PPC, or for x86). Other than that, you may have to go with the vendor's text (whatever books from YDL, or Debian, or SuSE... ).

Here's the only Mac Linux book that I've found.
"Linux for Your Mac" by Bill Ball 2001
ISBN: 0-7615-2685-4

A little dated but it has helped me out a lot.

I also think the Running Linux by O'Reilly is a good book for any distro just about.
