I installed Mandrake 9.0 on my laptop which has one hard drive of 18GB. It detected right during installation, but when it was installing package, it says 4800+-MB available... it's like 4.8GB right? Any idea where did other go and why I have so little space than I should do?

Thanks.

Click on Start button - Applications - Monitoring - Kdiskfree, or in a console type df - each one will show you where you are in terms of drive usage.

Ahhh it says
File System Size Used Avail Mounted on
/dev/hda1 5.3G 974M 4.1G /
/dev/hda6 13G 103M 13G /home

do you think /home has too much space? How can I move some space out of /home? Is it something I have to do at partition?

There's really no reason to change the size of the /home partition. I highly doubt you'll be installing enough applications to fill up your 5.3GB root.

The / partition is a fine size at over 5gig. Your home partition is where you keep all your personal files, data, music etc. If you choose to upgrade or try a different distro, you can choose not to format your home partition, and it really makes it much easier.

Thanks I guess I'll keep it until I encounter any problems. :)
